QUAINT QUIMPER AND THE CORNOUAILLE (Cornwall coast)

full day 9 hours
from Brest and Lorient

Description

Departure is from your port of call with your driver and an English speaking guide to Quimper by freeway.

Quimper is the capital of Cornouille (Cornwall), located in Finistère district, which is a part of Brittany region. Its name come from Breton language, "Kemper" meaning "Confluence" because the city is sitting on 3 rivers junction: Odet, Jet and Steir. The city is well known for its faïence and pottery, but also for crêpes and cider produced locally. When you will walk through the medieval cobble stone street, you will discover an amazing amount of arts and antiques shops inside half-timbered buildings.
In summer, this is a very festive town; with outside concert, dancing, and open air markets… one of your highlight visits is the museum alongside the Cathedral.
After lunch on your own, you will meet your guide and bus for a scenic afternoon to Cap Sizun with its genuine character in majestic surroundings composed of cliffs and wild coastline. La Pointe du Raz, la Pointe du Van, la Baie des Trépassés, overlooking many creeks and headlands of the north coast line. Then you will head back to your port of call after many phtos.

Note

Museum and faïence plant admissions not included, with this very busy day you won’t have the time to do both, Museum and Faïence plant, so we recommend the Museum where you have an excellent faïence exhibit. You need to have adapted shoes to walk on cobble stones, better to avoid heels.
