Tour description

Departure is from your port of call with a driver and an English or German speaking guide to Lille by freeway until you drive in Flanders countryside.

Your first visit is Ypres including the Flandersfields Museum via John Mc Crae Essex Farm à Boezinge.
Then after lunch on your own in Ypres you will drive to Tyne Cote Cemetery where 11,952 Commonwealth servicemen of the First World War are buried.
The Tyne Cot memorial forms the far wall of the Cemetery and commemorates those with no known grave from August 16th 1917 on, and there are 34,870 names recorded.
Again, these are arranged by regiment and then rank. You will end your day with Hill 62 and Sanctuary Wood Memorial.

Note

This is a very physical tour, a lot of walking on quite difficult terrain and many steps. Péronne Memorial and Albert museum admission fee included.  This tour can be reduced to 10 hours under conditions, such as the Port of call.
